The Moving Process
Here are the steps:
FREE Ballpark Pricing
When you first get hold of us to discuss your move, we’ll give you a FREE ballpark estimate of what it will cost you – given our preliminary recognition of your requirements. This figure might rise or fall, depending on more-thorough assessment and what move options you pick.
The Home Survey
We provide you with two options for helping us develop a final, accurate estimate – both of which is meant to complement your schedule in a way that’s most convenient for you:
- an in-person, in-home meeting with one of our expert estimators – featuring a full-house review of the possessions you’ll need shipped, or
- a video inventory that uses leading-edge technology, connecting you to our estimator by way of your cell phone as you move through your home and show us what has to be moved.
The Written Estimate
Based on our consultations with you and the results of your Home Survey, we’ll provide you with a written estimate of the price you can expect to pay. This written estimate fixes that cost with far more exactitude than our up-front ballpark estimate. It speaks to each and every aspect of your shipment, including all moving services you’ve requested.
The Customer Agreement
When you’ve chosen your best options and consented to our terms and pricing, you’ll sign an agreement with us. Consider this your move contract defining locations, move dates and times, the moving services you’ve said you prefer, and other details such as cost, safety, and insurance. With this matter taken care of, we schedule your move.
The Move Plan
This is the stage at which your personal A-1 Freeman Moving Group Move Concierge speaks with you to …
- confirm your move dates and the addresses involved
- confirm which of our services you want
- inform you of what to expect from your move, and
- answer your questions.
Your Move Concierge is your one point of contact from this point until the conclusion of your move. He or she will see to it that you’re abreast of everything that’s happening with your local residential move – to make for as pleasant, punctual, and perfect a move as you could expect from anyone.
The Pre-Move Confirmation
As your move date advances, we’ll email or phone you to ensure that everything planned for is still a “go.” We’ll make a final confirmation of dates, times, locations, and other elements of the move to keep it on track.
As always, we give you options to match your needs and budget. You can pack everything on your own (and we can provide you with the packing materials, if you prefer) … you can arrange for our full-service Dallas movers to provide backup packing assistance … or you can go with a custom-crafted plan where you get the packing started and we help with specialty items.
When the truck and crew get to your place, they’ll introduce themselves and perform a walk-through of your home to get acquainted with the floor plan and what needs to be shipped. Then they’ll prep the home to protect it, padding stair rails, tight corners, doors and jambs, and laying carpet covers to keep high-traffic areas clean. Next, they’ll undertake a systematic loading procedure, where moving boxes are labeled and inventoried according to rooms and your needs on arrival at your new home. Components that call for disassembling – anything from entertainment centers to beds to swing sets – are carefully disassembled now. Throughout the loading process, quality checks are executed and communication with your Move Concierge is maintained.
After we get your shipment safely to your new home – undeterred and undamaged, we unload it carefully. Our delivery services entail …
- using protective pads and carpet covers to keep your your new home in superb condition during the move-in process,
- systematic unloading – where we unload your belongings into the rooms you want them in, as you guide us,
- reassembly of components broken down intentionally for the move – beds, the like,
- unpacking – just let us know; we’ll get it done for you, and
- debris removal – where, if you want, our team will dispose of all the empty moving boxes and supplies after the unpacking.
